Lowell Showboat Sizzlin' Summer Concerts

Free Outdoor Concerts June 11 to August 13, 2026

Thursdays at 7:00pm, On the Riverwalk Plaza in Downtown Lowell

 

Family-friendly, wheelchair accessible, and completely FREE. Presented by Lowell Arts and the Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce. Lead Series Sponsors: City of Lowell DDA, Litehouse, Inc., Lowell Area Community Fund.

 

Bring your own chairs (limited bleacher seating available). Enjoy Lowell’s Social District for your adult beverages (purchased from participating restaurants and in a Social District cup). Concessions also available for purchase by the Lowell Area Historical Museum, B.C. Pizza, and Kona Ice of Lowell.

 

Located in front of the Lowell Showboat VI on Riverwalk Plaza near the KDL-Englehardt Library. For the best directions in your map app, use the library’s address: 200 N. Monroe St, Lowell, MI 49331.

 

Concerts are held all summer long through August 13. An additional concert is scheduled for Friday, July 10 for the Riverwalk Festival. No concert on August 6, instead enjoy the Kent County Youth Fair in Lowell.

Weather Policy

An outdoor concert is subject to a cancellation if impending/on-going weather is potentially hazardous. A call to cancel will not be made until 5:30 PM, the day of the show. The decision will be made jointly by Lowell Arts, Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce, Sound Crew, and Performers to ensure the safety of the public, volunteers, performers, and staff.​

Thursdays, 7:00-9:00 during the concerts

Located in the community room at Englehardt KDL Library during the concert, this free creative space welcomes youth of all ages for hands-on art projects that provide a fun escape from the outdoor festivities. Presented by Lowell Arts.

 

Youth Art Zone Policies

Children under 8 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver (14+), while children 8 and older may participate unattended but must know their contact information and be picked up immediately when called.

 

All children requiring supervision due to disabilities must have a caregiver present at all times. Participants must respect supplies and space, follow facilitator directions, and avoid bringing outside food or drinks—failure to comply may result in removal from the program.

Luke Winslow King

His music is a journey through the heart of America, characterized by masterful guitar work, captivating lyrics, and a voice that resonates with authenticity.

Magic Bus

July 2

Magic Bus delivers an authentic journey back to the 1960s through music, colorful period-accurate attire, and performances that transport audiences to the Woodstock era. This seven-piece ensemble skillfully incorporates guitars, drums, keyboards alongside harmonicas, tambourines, and varied percussion instruments. Their impressive instrumental talents and outstanding vocal ranges allow Magic Bus to faithfully recreate the iconic sounds that defined a generation and carved their place in musical history.

The Nuance

July 9, 5:00pm

The Nuance is a professional rock band based in Lowell, Michigan. The group was established in 2020 by singer-songwriter Case Sheldon and guitarist Caiden Hinzmann, later joined by fellow Lowell High School graduates Connor
Mclane and Patrick Kargl. The Nuance is primarily a live band, playing mostly covers and some originals that showcase their signature poppy sound. From classic rock standards, to 90s hits and alt-rock staples, to modern-day country favorites, and so much more, The Nuance is sure to have something in store for all audiences to enjoy.

Simply in Time

July 9, 7:00pm

Known for its eclectic and electrifying renditions of familiar funk, classic rock, R&B and yacht rock numbers, Simply in Time prides itself in delivering energetic displays of its musicianship. With a set list covering decades of classics — including songs by Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, David Bowie, H.E.R, Vulfpeck and Scary Pockets — the band dubs its music “theatrical funk fusion.”

Ultrasonik

July 10 (Friday)

After 8 performing seasons as "Leave Those Kids Alone”, ultrasonik is set to carry the classic rock legacy forward with an all-new lineup. A powerful female lead vocalist fronts two musical prodigies on guitar and keyboards with an all-female rhythm section on bass and drums. A completely refreshed songlist is set to make 2026 our best year yet, building upon the over 400 shows that Leave Those Kids Alone performed across Ontario, Michigan and beyond.

Old Days: A Chicago Tribute

July 16

Old Days- A Chicago Tribute was formed in 2018 by a group of Flint, Michigan natives who all had a love for the music of the iconic rock band, Chicago. From the start, their primary focus has been preserving the original works of Chicago through careful recreation of classic live and recorded performances. From those iconic horn lines we all know and love to the signature and foundational guitar parts of the late Terry Kath, Old Days brinsg to life all of those incredible radio hits of the 1970s and ‘80s.

Kari Lynch Band

Kari Lynch is a force to be reckoned with—a rare artist unfettered by mainstream expectations, who creates from the ground up, holds nothing back on stage or in the song, and instantly connects with any audience, leaving a lasting impact with every performance. Originally from Michigan and now based in Nashville, TN, Kari has built her career on unapologetic authenticity, fearlessly blending genres and sidestepping the constant cycle of fleeting musical trends, to create music that is timeless, compelling and refreshingly original.

West Side Soul Surfers

When only the best musicians West Michigan has to offer will get the job done, the Westside Soul Surfers are the band you need! The Westside Soul Surfers are a smokin' hot 10-piece R & B, funk, rock and soul powerhouse! When the rhythm section gets things rockin', the Westside Horns kick things up another notch! Add sweet vocals from 6 singers layering harmonies and masterful instrumentalists. With a song list that spans several genres over the last 65 years, they play something for everyone.

The Insiders:
A Tribute to Tom Petty

August 13

Close your eyes and you won’t know the difference. Open them and you still might be fooled. The Insiders present the premier Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers experience. With 6 veteran musicians and decades of combined stage and touring experience, The Insiders are genuinely running down the dream.

Bands interested in submitting an application for the Sizzlin’ Summer Concert Series may do so HERE. Working a year in advance, applications are reviewed by a committee representing Lowell Arts and the Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce.
