Single Session Class | Instructor: Samantha Coon | Ages: 13+ | Class Fee: $60 ($50 for LowellArts Members). This wet felting class is perfect for those wanting to learn the skills needed to create felt, while also experimenting with colors, shapes, and designs.

Single Session | Tuesday, September 3, 5:30pm-8:30pm

This wet felting class is perfect for those wanting to learn the skills needed to create felt, while also experimenting with colors, shapes, and designs using dyed Merino wool roving and prefelts as the color, or 'paint' palette. Instruction and demonstration will include wool fiber used, proper fiber layout, the rolling and fulling processes that will transform the wool into a strong felt fabric, and finally shaping the finished picture. Project ideas will be provided, though students are more than welcome to create as they choose, whether a picture, color, or design exploration! There is not one specific project to follow leaving endless possibilities. This class will provide the foundation for wet felting and further guide students with future projects.
