About the event

Single Session | Saturday, May 23, 1:00pm-3:00pm

In this hands-on workshop, artist M. Joy Lemon introduces two foundational techniques at the heart of classical drawing: the block-in method for capturing accurate proportions, and turning form, the art of shading to create a convincing three-dimensional illusion of volume and depth.

Joy will demonstrate each technique step by step, offering focused, personalized guidance as you apply them to your own work. Using graphite and colored pencil on toned paper, you'll create a richly rendered drawing of a flower or other natural subject that truly springs to life.

Whether you're picking up a pencil for the first time or looking to refine your technique, you'll leave with both new skills and a beautiful, finished piece. All supplies included. All skill levels welcome.
